Days of Israel and Jewish culture

In the Jewish Cultural Center on the 3rd of September this year, there was a cultural event "Days of Israel and Jewish culture," during which the visitors had the opportunity to attend the screening of the Israeli movie "Walk on Water", a lecture by Gabi Abramac, doctor of linguistics and international relations expert, and also to see the exhibition of caricatures, one of the most famous cartoonists from Bosnia and Herzegovina Djoke Ninkovic from the Jewish Community of Sarajevo.

In the presence of a large number of guests, among whom were the High Representative for BiH Valentin Inzko, mayor of Banja Luka Slobodan Gavranovic, Head of Social Services of the City Radenko Djurica, Head of the Clinical Center in Banja Luka Mirko Stanetic and other personalities from the cultural and public life of the city. The President of the Centre Arie Livne spoke to the audience.

He thanked the guests for having responded to the invitation and pointed that the Jewish Cultural Center is on the way of becoming a cultural institution of great importance for the city of Banja Luka, The Republic of Srpska. He recalled that the Jewish Cultural Center has existed for only one year and that the necessary things are time and resources to begin to operate at full capacity. The organization of the event is supported by the municipality of Banja Luka. Chief of Social Services in the City of Banja Luka Radenko Djurica pointed out that the cooperation between the Jewish Cultural Center and the city of Banja Luka is of great importance for the improvement of the cultural environment and that he will continue to work on its strengthening.

The director of the Centre, Djordje Mikes expressed satisfaction that the event "Days of Israel and Jewish culture" gathered together guests in such a number and that they recognized the importance of the event.

A performance of Sephardic music by Attila and Helen, two multi-talented artists from Mostar, attracted a lot of attention, and to the guests was presented a traditional Jewish cuisine.
